Wiping Out Barriers

Number 4 - March 1998

Welcome to the touring edition of Wiping out Barriers with a lot of new stuff. May is long forgotten and in 3 months a lot can happen. Here's what we have in store:

Since the last newsletter there was a short U.K. tour and a European tour with gigs in Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Groop Dogdrill supported them on a long stretch of the tour. After this the band played one more gig in Amsterdam on 18 January. They also performed live on the radio in Holland.

By the time this newsletter reaches you the album "Self Made Maniac" is also available in stores in the US. In Europe we will have to wait till 13/04/98 when the new single "Stop It All Adding UP" will hit the stores. The band remixed the album track with Dave Bascombe in January in London and if rumours are true there might be some live tracks on that single as well, recorded at ULU in London on 3 October 1997. Beside these releases Dave, Bill Adam and Jan are also working on a remix of the track "Loser" which was originally a b-side for "Somewhere Else". It may appear on a single again in the near future.

Beside the internet site of Proteus there is also one in Britain maintained by Sarah Comerford. You can reach this page by typing http://www.comerford.enta.net.

That's it fot this edition. Until the next time from Wiping Out Barriers in Rotterdam,

P.S.: If you received this newsletter (at a gig for instance) and you want to receive it by mail immediately whenever it's released, write to the address mentioned. The costs involved are (strictly used for postage) for 3 editions: England - 1 pound, Germany - 3 Mark and Holland and Belgium - 3 Guilders. Also the full interview I did with Dave last summer is available through Wiping Out Barriers. They go for the same price as one edition.
